The Boyz Are Back Inc. Founders:
The Boyz Board Members:
  • Executive Director, Marcus Stevenson, Player Relations Manager of 3MV Management;
  • President, Kevin Bruce, General Manager of Flow Automotive;
  • Vice President, Grady Armstrong, Fire Captain, City of Winston-Salem Fire Department;
  • Director of Communications, Murray Miller, Teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools;
  • Germane Crowell, NFL Player-New Orleans Saints;
  • Angelo Crowell, NFL Player-Buffalo Bills;
  •  Emery Rann III, Attorney-at-Law, Mediation Services of Forsyth County.

Board members consist of professional people who are:
  • familiar with the needs of at-risk youth;
  • knowledgeable regarding positive methods of inspiring young people;
  • committed to the mission of The Boyz.


 

More about Marcus Stevenson

  • 15+ years of experience in providing leadership and guidance to youth through community outreach, event planning, and program design/execution completed studies in behaviorial management;
  • Graduated from North Forsyth High School in Winston-Salem, NC, in 1987 and Gwinnett Technical College in Atlanta, GA, in 1989;
  • Worked in retail management for Footlocker following college graduation;
  • Started a Bible study for inmates at the Forsyth County Correctional Institute in 1996; later expanded the ministry to include life skills training.
  • Founded 3MV Management, a community relations firm serving professional athletes, in 2001;
  • Began working as a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools to strengthen background interacting with at-risk youth in 2001;
  • Conceptualized and planned an education and sports clinic in Detroit with Germane Crowell scheduled for September 22-23, 2001 but  cancelled due to 9/11;
  • Founded The Boyz Are Back Inc. with Germane Crowell and secured tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2002.
